Races for October 2008

After that amazing race route from Adidas King of the Road it’s difficult to think of other races of equal caliber, but never fear, there are still quite some interesting runs before we close this Octoberfest month.

Two of the races I’ll join before the month ends:

  • 26 October: OctobeRUN Festival (3K/5K/10K)
  • 31 October: ISUZU Shake, Rattle, and RUN! (5K Fun Run)

26 October: OctobeRUN Festival (3K/5K/10K)

Organized by The Fort Striders Club, this race will be held at the Fort, Taguig City with the theme “the start of a new life!….” This race is for the benefit of the Real Life Foundation which gives scholarships to the under privileged youth in the country. Not only that you also get a free DVD featuring a six-week training program for beginners and advance runners when you join.

10K Run – Open to all

31 October: ISUZU Shake, Rattle, and RUN! (5K Fun Run)

This is one of the more interesting runs because it’s the first one that I’ll be joining to be held at night! It is also interesting that there’s also a prize for the best costume because it is held on a Halloween night. Sure it’s only 5K but I think this would be a lot of fun… I wonder what costume I’d wear…

P250, inclusive of Finisher’s Shirt and Trick or Treat bag

Payment Centers
ROX and Bike King (Bonifacio High Street)

All Terra Bike Shop (Club 650, Libis)

BPI “Cross Train” C/A 433-0000-789

Metrobank “All Terra Events” S/A 327-226-9832

Registration forms for this race can also be downloaded from

Surely there are still more races out there, I’d love to join as much as I could, but then again I’m still one person, a beginner for that matter, and I do have to choose my races and divide my strength for all these races.

Welcome to my first running blog!

Welcome to my first running blog!  This is for those that just started running, like me, and those who want to try but are a bit clueless.  Keep checking this spot for running events, guides, and some other stuff about running, and more!

For my first entry I am sharing with you excerpts from a mini-seminar called Running Aid (Part 2) brought to us by our friends from Pinoy Ultra Runners, held at R.O.X. in Bonifacio High Street last September 11, 2008.  These 10 running essentials were part of the presentation made by Neville Manaois, Team Principal of Pinoy Ultra Runners.
