Run 800: Takbo para sa Kalusugan

7-Eleven celebrates the opening of its 800th store with Run 800.  Aiming to draw in nearly 50,000 runners with a new and scenic race course along the coastal road, 7-Eleven also gives back to the communities it serves with its advocacy “Takbo para sa Kalusugan” wherein cities within Luzon (where 7-Eleven stores are located) have a chance of receiving support for its feeding programs and medical missions.

Three (3) top cities by votes will receive support in kind equivalent to cash prizes to be donated by 7-Eleven – a total of ₱800,000.  First place city will get support equivalent to ₱400,000, Second place will get ₱300,000 worth, and Third place will get ₱100,000 worth of food and medical supplies.

And this is where runners joining in the Run 800 can SUPPORT THEIR CITY.  All registrants are required to input the Luzon-located city they want to help.  Registration will not push-through without a city indicated.  Votes will be tallied daily as registrations are completed.  Only paid registrations are counted for the votes.  After the last day of payment (August 10, 2012), all votes will be tallied and posted on this site.

Feeding and medical programs to be awarded to winning cities voted for by runners will be facilitated by PhilSeven Foundation, Philippine Seven Corporation’s corporate social responsibility arm.  To know more on PhilSeven Foundation, visit philseven.com.

Only a select few will win the cash, travel, and medals of this event but each registrant has the power to pick which cities they want to benefit from this race’s cause.  Add to that the rare opportunity to run in the newly completed CAVITEX (Coastal Road) which may not even happen again.  And talk about the convenience of registering anywhere with payment and claiming anytime.
