The Rexona Run 2012 was one of the most challenging races I had recently and by not expecting much, I was quite surprised that I had outran my conservative expectations. Here’s the story of my 21K experience.

The Run United Trilogy were really meant as training grounds for those aiming to run longer distances, but this year the trilogy went even further by staging their own “holy grail” of running events, forty two kilometers and a hundred ninety five meters of road—a full marathon! And it is to be called the Run United Philippine Marathon.
The “Afroman” distance of 32K was the highlight of last leg of the Run United Trilogy, and to buy time for some leisure runners of this event, the race was held very early at 3AM! It’s so early that it was a “no-sleep” race for me.

Mt. Pinatubo is indeed infamous for its catastrophic eruption in the 90s that forever changed the landscape of the region, but decades after that horrible event, nature went back and gave us some really breathtaking landscapes. I’ve seen it with my own two eyes and I still regret to this day that I didn’t have any picture at the Crater Lake! If you want to experience what Mt. Pinatubo has to offer (or like me who’s quite eager to return), here’s your chance via Columbia Eco Trail Run.
