Throwback Thursday: Pangasinan Adventures

I’ve no idea who started this “Throwback Thursday” (TBT) idea, but I think it’s nice to look back on some old fond memories every once in a while.  My first TBT would be one of my first great adventure with friends in the province of Pangasinan, way back in 2002!

Does this scene look familiar?  This is the view from the top of Governor’s Island, the largest in a group of islands in the province of Pangasinan collectively known as “The Hundred Islands.

It’s hard to imagine that it’s been 11 years already since I was last in this area of the province, and I really missed it.  I wonder what has changed in more than a decade.

Sunset at the white beach of Patar, Bolinao, Pangasinan.  Back then it was virtually unknown and we were practically the only ones on the beach at the time.  It’s so beautiful it could rival the best ones in the country.
Sunrise at Governor’s Island.  We managed to get ourselves stranded in the island for the night.

Back then digital photography was a rarity so we only had a handful of pictures, and as expected, on film!  These pictures are some of the few that I scanned from actual prints, but the scanner I used were also from those era so the quality is not as good as I wanted.  I hope I get a chance to return to these places for old time’s sake, and to take more recent pictures. 🙂

Hi guys, we’re plannig to visit pangasinan, I found some information here, http://aboutfilipino.com/ilocos-tourist-attractions/tourist-spots-in-pangasinan, but I think it is worth if advice comes from you who already experienced Pangasinan. By the way, could you please mention what are the places worth to visit in the province.

For me, it’s the church of Manaoag, Hundred Islands, and the beaches of Patar
