Hotel Review: Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center

Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center is one of two Hyatt properties in Anaheim, California and is the one we stayed in for our visit to Disneyland.  Here’s my review.

Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center

We picked Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center primarily due to its proximity to Disneyland.  It is just on the block across the theme park and is basically walkable!

We stayed in a room with a queen-sized bed during our stay.  Here are the features I found with our room:

  • Room is new, spacious, and very modern
  • Restroom with hot and cold showers
  • Towels and toiletries
  • Plenty of storage spaces from the big cabinet to drawers; hangers, flat iron, ironing board, and safe
  • Working desk with chair and lamp
  • “Cozy Corner” which is a separate living area with a sofa-sleeper
  • 42” HDTV
  • Refrigerator and coffee-maker
  • In-room Wi-Fi
  • Plenty of power outlets
  • Wall-to-wall carpeting in the bedroom and living area
  • Card-type keys

The “Cozy Corner” which is like a mini living room

The cabinets and drawers hiding the safe, refrigerator, etc.
The very nice restroom

Actually, if you add in a kitchen our room would make for a very nice studio-type condo unit!

Outside our room, Hyatt Place also has a small 24-hour gym (which we were too busy to try) and a small outdoor swimming pool.  Overnight parking is also available (separate charge).  There are complimentary public computers and remote printing near the reception area in case you need to access the internet or print some tickets.  Free breakfast buffet also included which features the typical items found in similar hotel.

I’ve been a patron of Hyatt properties for quite some time now because their rooms are new or recently renovated with reasonable rates and Hyatt Place at Anaheim is no exception.  I love how spacious our room is (which is practically a condo unit without a kitchen) and its walking distance proximity to Disneyland!  Breakfast may not really be different from similar hotels but it’s not at all bad and it comes free so I’m not complaining!  Parking though is still a bit expensive and doesn’t earn points so that’s a bit of a letdown.  The swimming pool is outdoors so you’re subjected to the elements and is too small for doing laps but nonetheless good for casual dips.  The gym might be small but not that many use it and it’s open 24-hours so you can get your workout anytime.  Overall, great value for good rooms in an excellent location.
