Another Busy Weekend

This weekend is going to be another busy one.  First off is the Nike Running Clinic which is tonight at Nike Bonifacio High Street.  I tried cancelling my registration for tonight but the system says that it should be done 48 hours before the schedule, so there’s still no free slot for tonight.  Tonight’s session is going to be a repeat of last Tuesday’s except for the venue.  There are still a few more slots to those who wish to join the clinic although the events themselves are full (you may have to take your chances that someone will cancel their registration).  To those who can’t join an event they registered for please cancel it 48 hours before the event (I only found out about this just today, so now you know the drill).

Then there are the back-to-back runs this Saturday and Sunday: Race for Life and Walk on the Child’s Side by Unicef, both at Bonifacio Global City.  The registration for the latter is still open until before the race begins so there’s still time to join if you haven’t done so.  Also this Sunday is the 6th Animo! Run which is going to take place in the Mall of Asia parking area.  If you want a flat course go for the Animo! Run but if you prefer some challenges (or failed to register on any of the weekend races beforehand) go to McKinley Hill for the Unicef Walk/Run.  I preferred the ones in Fort Bonifacio (both of them) because both races are for a cause.

On a side note there’s an outlet sale happening at the Mega Tent in Meralco Ave. (near Ultra) from November 21 (today) until the 23rd.  This event is promoted by BPI so you’ll need any BPI cards (ATM cards are accepted aside from the regular credit cards) to get in free, or they charge P50 as entrance fee.  I scouted this event earlier but wasn’t able to purchase anything but if you’re looking for running shoes there were some good selection (namely from Mizuno).

This weekend is a rare occasion to do a back-to-back race, not to mention that it probably is the last back-to-back for this year.  Whatever you chose to do, be it running, shopping, or anything, don’t forget to have fun this weekend!

Running reminders: Be wary of your parking location!   Since chances are nobody’s left in your car make sure that you park somewhere “safe.”  Whenever possible bring only the things that you need, and if you do need to leave important items in your car, place it inside your trunk.  Any items left inside your cars (like bags and laptops especially if your windows are not tinted) are unnecessary temptation that attracts unwanted attention.  Better safe than sorry!
