Fitbit was acquired by Google in 2021 but has remained out of sight—until now. And they’re coming for your Fitbit account!

Since the acquisition, I’ve actually waited for some “Google magic” to improve the Fitbit ecosystem, but until recently, Google never made themselves felt and left Fitbit as it was—at least from my perspective as a consumer. It was only until recently when my Fitbit app asked me to move my account to Google that I was reminded who owns the company now.

As of writing, I have yet decided to move my Fitbit account to Google. Although having one less account to keep may be an advantage, I haven’t found a compelling reason yet to do so. But for those who might be ready to jump ship, here’s how you can do so:
