Finally, gone are the days that we have to memorize so many numbers in case of emergency—the Philippines’ emergency hotline, 9-1-1, is now online!  I know that there are a lot of curious folks out there who want to try calling this number, but I’m appealing to everyone to resist the urge to call this hotline if you don’t have an emergency!  We have very limited resources and we need as many lines open as possible for real emergencies.  Your unnecessary call may mean the life or death of another person.  Let us all be responsible citizens and help this great initiative by not using it in anything but emergencies.
