This October Quezon City would be the proud host to the staging of an international race: the first Quezon City International Marathon (QCIM). Already I am very excited with this race, especially when I saw the marathon route, courtesy of Sir Rene (Jazzrunner):

Being born and a resident of Quezon City for most of my life I can’t help but be proud that a race such as this is finally in our turf—and it’s about time! If there’s one word I can use to describe this route it would be, excellent! I’m quite familiar with the route as I’ve already ran more than half of this route and been to most part of it—in fact the only section of the route I haven’t been to is the La Mesa Eco Park area. Indeed this route showcases what Quezon City has to offer and some of it can only be found in our city. Some of the notable places found along the route were the Quezon Memorial Circle, University of the Philippines Diliman Campus, Batasang Pambansa Complex, La Mesa Eco Park, UP AyalaLand Technohub, SM City North EDSA, and Trinoma.
