I just drooled with excitement when I saw the latest Garmin Forerunner, the Forerunner® 910XT:

To sum it up, for me it’s perfect! I may not be into multisports now, but as an ultrarunner it has some of my most sought after features: the long battery life (up to 20 hours) and now a barometric altimeter (since GPS isn’t really great when it comes to elevation). I also like that the looks are much “sleeker” but it’s still a bit bulkier than the regular watch.
For those who do multisports, the Forerunner® 910XT is designed for both open water and pool swimming, resustant to 50m (164ft) and provides metrics like swim distance, stroke identification, stroke count, pool lengths, etc. I don’t know how they did it but Garmin was able to enable GPS in the water—amazing!
Here’s an in-depth review from DC Rainmaker.
The Garmin Forerunner® 910XT will set you back $399.99 (that’s US) and $449.99 with a premium heart rate monitor.
Ouch! Will start saving up for a mop for our drool.
