I cannot be more excited when I found out that a DC Comics-licensed fun run is to be held in the country, and it would be a first in Asia! It would be on April 18, 2015 coinciding with the 80th anniversary of DC Comics. And if it’s DC Comics, expect superheroes! Here are the details:

For the past two years, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) organized the PAF Anniversary Fun Run which attracted some 2,000 running enthusiasts. The event successfully raised funds for the dependents of Philippine Air Force Personnel who were either Killed-in-Action (KIA) or was totally incapacitated while in line of duty. This event has been an annual project of the Philippine Air Force in order to uplift the morale and welfare of its personnel and their families/dependents.

Takbo sa Pagbangon ng Leyte
The “Takbo sa Pagbangon ng Leyte,” a benefit run for typhoon Yolanda survivors, will be held on May 04, 2014, Sunday, 5AM at the PNB Financial Center, Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City. Spearheaded by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), the run aims to promote public awareness on PDIC and its role in protecting the environment, and to raise funds to build disaster-resilient shelters for families in Leyte in partnership with Gawad Kalinga.
