#Selfie (Logging)

Selfies are often associated with vanity but when it comes to monitoring your progress, they’re a must!  Let me explain.

But first, let me take a #selfie!

Selfies are a great way of letting you document your current state.  Those with certain fitness goals may take this further with “body checks.”  Some people may dismiss these simply as “bragging” but if you want to document your progress, it’s a must that you do these periodically—even if you don’t think you look good in them!  In the first place, you don’t have to post them on social media!  What’s important is you keep a reference for yourself and include other metrics such as weight, body fat percentage, etc. into the picture to make your monitoring more meaningful with regards to your goals.  You can’t measure your momentum if you don’t have these references.  And should you decide to publicize them and didn’t get the comments or likes that you expected, don’t feel bad—your success don’t depend on them!

One of the things I reluctantly share are photos that show how much fat are accumulating on my midsection. Most of the time I just keep them to myself as future reference. People always have opinions but you don’t always have to listen to them.
