Bicolandia is known for spicy food due to their fondness with sili (chili) that they put in just about any dish you can think of—including ice cream! 1st Colonial Grill claims to be home to the original sili ice cream, and we came to investigate this exotic ice cream.
A trip to Bicol would not be complete without a visit to one of its popular icons, the ruins of Cagsawa. And so before we head off on a long drive back to Manila, we had this as our last itinerary.
Our third day in Bicol could be considered the highlight of this trip as we got to see the majestic Mayon Volcano. And we’re coming in for a closer view and experience her trails.
Our second day in Bicol brought us back to the mainland, in the town of Pili, still in the province of Camarines Sur (CamSur). It’s not my first time to be in CWC or this part of CamSur (my first time being the 2010 CamSur Marathon) but it would be my first time to do wakeboarding!
Caramoan is a first-class municipality located in the province of Camarines Sur. It is located at the tip of a peninsula bearing the same name, and it is also the first stop of our Bicol Region adventure. Off the coast are numerous islands, some of which has been the site of several editions of the reality show, Survivor.
May 01 is Labor Day in the Philippines. It is quite fortunate that this year, it fell on a Friday so it was perfect for a getaway. While many chose the beach because of the extreme summer heat, we chose to spice things up and visit the land of chilies, the Bicol Region. And what an extremely fun weekend that was!
