Lucky 9 at Cebu Marathon
It was the ninth day of the New Year, and it was my ninth marathon. I’ve heard wonders about the previous Cebu Marathon, so this year I decided to find out for my own and do some “assessment run,” but I got much more than I had expected.
The Bests of 2010
Drumrolls please… and the award goes to… Welcome to my list of the year’s bests! This year I’ve these categories picked:
4th VFF Fun Run
Last Sunday, Barefoot Running Philippines/Vibram FiveFingers Fan Club had gathered minimalist and barefoot running enthusiasts over at the SM Mall of Asia grounds for its fourth VFF Fan Club Fun Run, an informal run that’s purely for fun!
A Runner’s Birthday: I am an Urbanathlete
For runners such as myself, there’s no better way to celebrate our big day but with a fun run, and this year it fell on a Sunday—a Sunday with a great event, the Men’s Health Urbanathlon.
Adobo for Halloween
At long last, the fun of Halloween was brought back to runners with a Halloween night run, thanks to Adobo Run. This would be my VFF Sprint’s first race, and one of the most fun!
Cebu City Quickie
Cebu was one of the destinations I’ve always wanted to visit for the longest time mostly because of my fascination with Philippine history. Unexpectedly, that wish came true! But there’s a catch—the trip was merely for only a day and a half! And here’s how this “surprise” trip came about.

At first I thought it’s crazy because back then I always thought that shoes should be thick and soft (cushioning). Fast forward, I started running, and learned all about my feet, and eventually, shoes. Even my first post…
Impromptu 42: My CamSur Experience (Part 2: Race, Route, and Review)
Did I mention that CWC (where the starting line is) is several minutes away from Naga (where we were staying)? Well, because of this we had to wake up at 12 midnight and aim for the 2AM shuttle towards the venue. It’s the same old story of having that so-little sleep before that so-long run. …
Impromptu 42: My CamSur Experience (Part 1: Pre-Race)
Camarines Sur, or CamSur, has recently become popular because of the world class CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC), host to world wakeboarding championships and for the past two years Cobra Ironman 70.3. Last week, another world class event was staged in the province, the first CamSur Marathon which is another government initiative headed by Governor L-Ray…
Pumpkin Adobo?
Could you imagine mixing pumpkin with adobo? Something like that is cooking this October, and if you think it’s gross, you’re in for quite a surprise.
