TNF Thrill of the Trail Experience, Part 1

It was truly an amazing race!  I just returned home from one of the best races I’ve ever had!  I have so many stories to share so please bear with me until I’ve compiled the pictures and completed writing about it.  I’ll share it here even if it takes on an installment basis. 🙂  For the mean time I’d like to share with you guys some information about this race held early this morning in the cold and breezy trails of Nasugbu, Batangas, courtesy of my new GF405 (I told you I had stories to tell):

Dennis, wow! That’s a nice race to for your new GF405! You have nice data to show the increase in elevation. It shows have fast you were downhills and how you slowed down uphill.

    > Yes GF405 was pretty accurate in describing the elevation encountered on the race, just ignore our speed during “flats” as we were just “playing around” except for the steep ups and downs. Unfortunately the ascent/descent were not included in the computation of distance. Hope this software update is just got includes this. 🙂

Congratulations on your first (?) cross-country race. Even though my own result today left much to desired, I agree with you that it was one of the best-organised races I’ve been to, very much improved from last year when I ran your distance. It pays to have ultra runners manage the event.

    > Yes it was my first trail run and we didn’t bother with our time: the experience and the sceneries were enough to make us all very satisfied. Excellent race by the Pinoy Ultra Runners.

Hi Dennis…hooray! yes you’re right for it’s one of the best races ever. Yesterday’s run is my 2nd for the tnf and I keep coming back for more because of the view, trail and pollution-free race. Aside from that, I was able to beat my pr from last year’s 2 hours and 31 minutes to just 2 hours and 1 minute yesterday in both 20 kms event.

Nice start for 2009 and congrats for your race!

    God bless.

    > Congrats on your new PR! Next time we’d definitely go for 20K to enjoy the trail twice! 🙂 I love this entire experience and can’t wait for more!

  4. Very nice statistics Dennis. The more you show these numbers, the more I wanna get a Garmin! Cheers, it was indeed a thrill to have ran the trail!

    > The first time I saw stats like these I was sold! Glad you were able to join us! 🙂
