Meatless Monday

Happy New Year everyone!  Today is the first Monday of 2015 and I think this is the perfect time for me to share one of my resolutions for the year: Meatless Monday.

I guess you can already tell by the name what this is all about: it’s consciously avoiding eating meat every Monday.  Personally, I think it would be a step towards a healthier me.  Not that meat is bad but I think I could use more fruits and vegetables in my diet.

Just one of the many reasons to reduce our meat consumption

On a bigger picture, if everyone eats less meat we’re also reducing our carbon footprint since our meat sources don’t really grow overnight and they of course as living beings also produce carbon dioxide adding to what humans are already dumping into the air.

Let there be Peas

I would not elaborate further why I included this on my list of New Year’s resolutions because for me it just makes a lot of sense.  I may not even be able to complete all Mondays of 2015, but I would do my best to comply as it’s a good start to improve my health.  I don’t really think I have anything to lose with this initiative.

There’s actually more to Meatless Monday than the obvious health and cost benefit.  If you’re interested to know more about this initiative, get new recipes, etc. you may visit meatlessmonday.com or their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest accounts.

Happy new year, pre! I missed you bad – we need to hang out super soon!!! Anyways, thanks for this post. I like this one – pretty much doable than my once uber-ambitious vegan life goals haha!
