Are you running the full marathon (42.195K) leg of the Run United Philippine Marathon 2015? Are you aiming to finish in six hours the most? If you answered yes to both these questions, feel free to join our pace group tomorrow. Here’s our game plan to accomplish this:
In general, we’d be applying an even pace per kilometer. Assuming that the RUPM marathon route distance is exactly 42.195K, the average pace would be 8:31.9/km (eight minutes and 31.9 seconds per kilometer). Here’s the target time per kilometer (you may want to save this as reference):
In terms of speed, the average would be 7.03kph (kilometers per hour). Since this is a bit too leisurely for running yet too fast for walking, we’d be incorporating a run-walk strategy. No specific ratio between running and walking as long as we complete each kilometer in eight minutes and 31 seconds, give or take a few as necessary. But realistically, the distance will never be exactly 42.195K so we will adjust accordingly by kilometer 41.
Sounds good? Look for and join us six-hour full marathon pacers on race day (we should look as it appears on the photo below, with the baloon and all :D). Remember our gun start is at 2AM at One Esplanade in the SM Mall of Asia Complex. See you there!
