Lahar Chronicles: Columbia Eco Trail Run Pinatubo Encounter

It was another sleepless race—that’s one of the downsides of having an out of town race.  But it doesn’t matter—what matters is that after two years, I’ll be back onto one of my favorite trail routes of all time: the lahar fields of Mt. Pinatubo!

Mt. Pinatubo Anyone? Columbia Eco Trail Run

Mt. Pinatubo is indeed infamous for its catastrophic eruption in the 90s that forever changed the landscape of the region, but decades after that horrible event, nature went back and gave us some really breathtaking landscapes.  I’ve seen it with my own two eyes and I still regret to this day that I didn’t have any picture at the Crater Lake!  If you want to experience what Mt. Pinatubo has to offer (or like me who’s quite eager to return), here’s your chance via Columbia Eco Trail Run.

2010 in Pictures

2010 was the year running took a backseat from my list of activities, but in between my great hiatus there were some interesting events that transpired.  Here’s a look back at how 2010 was for me:

The highlight for the first month of 2010 was my return to running with a 50K test run of the Bataan Death March (BDM) Ultramarathon (first 50K of the actual route).
