After what seemed like eternity, at long last, I was able to return to Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro last March 02, 2013 to officially kick off (at least for me) the summer season for the year!

Manila Chinatown: Chinese New Year Walkabout
It was the eve of Chinese New Year, and what better place to be in Manila than Chinatown? I wasn’t running of course, but it was really nice to walk around and see how this festivity is celebrated.
Bohol + Cebu Quickie: Roaming Around Cebu City
Cebu City was the real destination for this trip so early in the year, and as a runner Cebu City Marathon was naturally the expected reason, but this time it is not. The real reason behind this trip: to go to Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño to give thanks for all the blessings. 2012 was…
Baguio City Quickie + Food Trip
Just before 2012 drew to a close I managed to take a quick break from the hustles and bustles of Metro Manila by “chilling” in cool weather of Baguio City. Here’s my trip in pictures.
2012: Last Hurrah
2012 had been one of the most “interesting” years of my adult life but unfortunately running took a back seat for me this year in terms of mileage. That doesn’t mean though that there isn’t much to share about this year! Here are ten (10) of my favorite posts for the year:
Lahar Chronicles: Columbia Eco Trail Run Pinatubo Encounter
It was another sleepless race—that’s one of the downsides of having an out of town race. But it doesn’t matter—what matters is that after two years, I’ll be back onto one of my favorite trail routes of all time: the lahar fields of Mt. Pinatubo! Our adventure starts pretty early in the morning of that…
Boracay (Mis)Adventures: Caticlan, Kalibo, Clark (Part 3)
Last day in Boracay, time to get back to reality. But between paradise and “real life” is a long commute—a very long commute in land, sea, and air! Now that’s another adventure on its own!
Boracay (Mis)Adventures: A Day in Paradise (Part 2)
Rains have been pouring all over most parts of the Philippines when we arrived in Boracay, but heaven must really be on our side as the dark cloudy skies of the past few days had actually cleared up, and we were basking under the tropical sun of Boracay! What else to do but enjoy the…
Marathons: More Fun in the Philippines
Running had become the “it” sport in urban centers in the Philippines these past few years with races achieving “world-class” levels, and if I were to pick three amongst the best in the country, the list would look something like this…
Cebu Lechon Chronicles: Tune Hotels (Review)
One of the newest hotel chains in the Philippines today is Tune Hotels, and unlike other hotels, you only pay for what you need so you can really keep your cost to a minimum. Here are my thoughts. Tune Hotels had been present in Malaysia, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Thailand, and recently in the Philippines with…
Cebu Lechon Chronicles: Islands Stay Hotels (Review)
If you’ve been travelling around the Philippines you may have noticed those Islands Souvenirs shops selling souvenir tees so I wasn’t that surprised when the words Islands Stay Hotels came up. I had the chance to stay for a night in their Cebu City branch, and here are my thoughts. Islands Stay Hotels is a…
Behind the Scenes: Pico Tri Invitational at Pico de Loro Cove, Hamilo Coast
Last March 31, 2012 I had the opportunity to cover Pico Tri Invitational held at Pico de Loro Cove, Hamilo Coast. While it may not be the first triathlon event I’ve seen, it is definitely the first world class event I had to cover. I could count this event as my first “real” media duty.
